About WhatCable

USB-C cables all look alike, and they are far from equal. WhatCable sits in the menu bar and reports what a connected cable, charger or display link can actually do.

It shows speed and charging capability, and points at what may be limiting the connection. The app is open source, with a free tier and an optional Pro. Signed and notarised, and Homebrew works for installing. Good for settling the argument over which of the drawer cables is the fast one.
