About Hob

Most local AI apps are a chat box that chokes the moment you paste in a long document. Hob goes further: it reads and edits the folders you share, looks at images, runs code in a sandbox, draws charts and fills in PDFs, with every model running on your own computer.

It picks an open-weight model that fits your hardware (Gemma or gpt-oss, for example) and sets everything up for you. It is free and MIT licensed, with no account or subscription, and it works offline. Installers for Mac, Windows and Linux are on GitHub. The catch: bigger models need more memory, and 8 GB is the floor.
